Why Do I Find It Hard to Forgive Someone?
Have you ever tried to move on from something someone did, only to find that the memory still hurts?
Perhaps the person apologised. Perhaps the argument ended long ago. Yet you still wonder why it happened and whether you can trust them again.
Forgiveness can be difficult when hurt remains unresolved.
You may be waiting for an apology, struggling with broken trust or worrying that forgiving someone means accepting their behaviour.
But forgiveness does not mean forgetting, reconciling or trusting someone again.
These are different decisions.
What Does Vedic Wisdom Say?
In Vedic thought, kshama is commonly understood as forgiveness or forbearance.
It offers a way to reflect on inner strength and the ability to respond to hurt without allowing anger to control every subsequent action.
But it does not require you to ignore harmful behaviour.
You can choose not to seek revenge and still ask for accountability.
You can wish someone well and maintain distance.
You can forgive without restoring trust.
Five Questions to Ask Yourself
Before forcing yourself to forgive, consider:
What exactly hurt me?
Has the other person acknowledged what happened?
What would accountability look like?
What boundaries would help me feel safe?
Am I ready to forgive, or am I feeling pressured?
Your answers can help you identify what you actually need.
Can Vedic Astrology Help?
Vedic astrology may offer a reflective framework for understanding emotional tendencies and relationship experiences. A personalised interpretation may consider the Moon, relevant houses, planetary influences and Mahadasha–Antardasha.
However, astrology cannot decide whether you must forgive someone. Their behaviour, your safety and your values matter.
You can seek peace without pretending the hurt did not matter.
